Who are you and what should you write on?

Use role-play when writing:

The writer is called the addresser. Who is the addresser?
  • a grumpy old neighbour?
  • a high-flying advertising executive?
  • a tired and ratty British Rail traveller?
  • a horror writer?
  • Charles Dickens?
  • an Ofsted Inspector?
  • The Head?
  • yourself at the age of 83?
  • the exam moderator?

What would they write on?
  • A4 paper?
  • computer?
  • sugar paper?
  • the back of an envelope?
  • old tea-stained paper?
  • exercise book?
  • official form?
  • secret diary?
  • blog?
Have a selection of these things in the classroom. Let the students choose...
